  10. David Perry Beiter was born in Troy (thus a native Trojan),
  11. Rensselaer County, New York (east of the Hudson River, and thus a
  12. genuine Yankee) on the Twenty-ninth day of March, in The Year of
  13. Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-Four from the union
  14. of David Luke Beiter and Elizabeth Perry Beiter.  He had the good
  15. sense to move from Troy to Stillwater, New York when he was three
  16. days old.

  18. Education was instilled at Stillwater Central School,
  19. Mechanicville High School, Union College at Schenectady, New
  20. York (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, 1965), Rensselaer
  21. Polytechnic Institute at Troy, New York (Chemistry), University
  22. of Kentucky at Lexington, Kentucky (Master of Science in Geology,
  23. 1970), and Fergle University at Cincinnati, Ohio (Doctor of
  24. Eschatology, 1987).

  26. He is a self-taught surveyor.  While at Union College, he was a
  27. part of a group of several students who were doing research in
  28. the local caves.  They desired to make a map of these caverns,
  29. but the available methods used for land surveying were not
  30. appropriate for cave surveying.  A cheap rugged surveying method
  31. was then devised, as well as the first computer program to handle
  32. the data (written in FORTRAN and run on an IBM 1620 computer
  33. using IBM cards for data storage).  Further development of the
  34. surveying technique and the computer program was done at the
  35. University of Kentucky and a cave over twenty miles in length was
  36. surveyed.

  38. This surveying method was brought out into the light of day while
  39. shopping for rural property in Kentucky.  Rural property is
  40. seldom surveyed in the backwoods of Kentucky.  Someone shows the
  41. prospective purchaser the boundaries as best that can be
  42. remembered.  The land description is recopied from the previous
  43. deed, along with all the previous mistakes.

  54. In 1971 the author purchased three springs and a remote farm at
  55. Kidder, Kentucky, with the intention of studying the water
  56. chemistry for a PhD dissertation.  In 1972 he retired.  In 1976,
  57. he purchased and moved to a remoter farm at Ritner, Kentucky
  58. (population 25).  Since 1972, he has assisted approximately one
  59. hundred families to retire.  If you are interested in early
  60. retirement and/or purchase of inexpensive (US$200 to US$500 per
  61. acre) rural or remote property contact him for the latest list of
  62. available properties.  Cheap rentals are $100 per month for an
  63. old farmhouse.

  65. The author is a confirmed hermit and ochlophobe.  He works and
  66. lives in a slightly modernized Civil War vintage log shack on 1/2
  67. Fast Farm.  His driveway is one mile long and has a locked gate.
  68. Trespassers will be violated.  Survivors will be prosecuted.

  70. The author is happily divorced.  His family consists of a jackass
  71. named Gunsmoke, a tomcat named Forney Cat, a bitch named Yuppie,
  72. and two kids named Billy and Capricia.
